Reaction Roles Module
Classic emoji reaction roles with optional exclusive groups. For buttons and dropdowns, use Embed Creator.
Overview
Map emoji reactions on a Discord message to roles. Members react to receive a role; removing the reaction removes the role.
Optional exclusive groups: give mappings on the same message the same Group name so only one role in that group stays assigned (Carl-style). Lio also removes the member’s other reactions in the group when possible.
Buttons, dropdowns, and Components V2 panels live in Embed Creator, same Discord roles, modern UI.
Setup
- Enable Reaction Roles in Modules.
- Create the panel message in Discord (or use an existing one) and copy its Message ID (Developer Mode).
- In the dashboard, add a message panel: channel, message ID, optional intro text, and emoji → role rows.
- Optional: set the same Group on mutually exclusive roles.
- Save, then Sync reactions & text (or run /reactionrole sync).
Exclusive groups
Use the Group field when only one role should be active at a time (e.g. faction, color, region).
Scope is per message: the same group name on another message does not interact.
Removing a reaction still only removes that role; it does not re-assign a sibling.
Usage
- Members react with a configured emoji to get the role.
- Staff edit mappings in the dashboard and re-sync when the message or emoji set changes.
- Bot role must sit above assignable roles; Manage Roles is required.
Troubleshooting
- No role assigned → module enabled? mapping matches message + emoji? bot role hierarchy?
- Reactions missing → run Sync; bot needs Add Reactions / read the channel.
- Exclusive not switching → same Group spelling on each row; sync after save.
- Need buttons → open Embed Creator; exclusive groups work there too.
