1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage for login, language, caches, and notices.
2. Cookies and storage we use
| Name / storage | Purpose |
|---|---|
| lio_accessToken (local storage, strictly necessary) | JWT session after Discord OAuth; keeps you logged in to the dashboard. |
| lio_locale (cookie + local storage, only after language change) | Remembers the website language you choose. Not set automatically on first visit; the German marketing URL (/de) works without a cookie. |
| lio_cookie_consent_v1 (local storage) | Remembers that you have seen the cookie notice. |
| lio_me_cache_v1 (session storage) | Short-lived cache of your dashboard profile in the current browser session. |
| lio_guilds_cache_v1 (session storage) | Short-lived cache of the server list in the current browser session. |
| lio_discord_join_dismissed (session storage) | Remembers in the session that you dismissed the Discord join notice. |
| lio_onboarding_sound_muted (local storage) | Stores your choice to mute onboarding sounds. |
We currently do not set analytics or marketing cookies. Fonts and icons are self-hosted; page loads do not fetch Google Fonts.
3. Managing preferences
On your first visit to https://lio.gg, we inform you about strictly necessary storage. You can acknowledge the notice. Details are always available at https://lio.gg/cookies or via the footer. Session caches end when you close the tab; you can clear local storage and cookies via browser settings.
4. Your rights
For personal data processed via cookies, the rights described in our Privacy Policy apply. Contact: support@lio.gg.
These texts are carefully drafted for the operation of Lio.gg and the Discord bot “Lio”, but do not replace individual legal advice. For questions contact support@lio.gg.
